A serious collision between a bus and an Audi A3 occurred on Warrington Road in Rainhill on Friday morning, leaving a woman and two babies injured.
The impact forced emergency services to attend the scene, where the victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
As a result of the accident, the 10A bus route between St Helens and Liverpool ONE has been diverted. Services now travel via Delph Lane, Portico Lane, and Scholes Lane, avoiding Warrington Road, Rainhill Road, and Nutgrove Road in both directions.
Local residents reported hearing a helicopter and witnessing emergency vehicles arriving quickly. One neighbour described the area as hazardous for motorists and expressed concern for the safety of the community.
Police investigators are in the early stages of examining the incident and have requested anyone with footage or observations to come forward. Those who may have recorded the event on dashcams or CCTV are encouraged to provide evidence, even if it seems minor.
