Certain high-risk platforms are restricted from use with UMVA virtual cards. These restrictions help protect both cardholders and the payment network from potential risks.
Restricted Platforms
Usage on certain high-risk platforms is restricted. This includes but is not limited to Steam, Uber, and similar platforms. These restrictions are in place due to bank risk controls and chargeback patterns associated with these platforms.
Why Restrictions Exist
High-risk platform restrictions are implemented to maintain low chargeback rates, comply with banking partner requirements, and protect the overall health of the card network. Categories that may trigger bank risk controls are strictly prohibited and may not be pre-notified.
