Angat Dam water level climbs 3.5 meters amid rising rainfall

Angat Dam water level climbs 3.5 meters amid rising rainfall

The water level at Angat Dam rose significantly on Thursday, following days of heavy rainfall brought by a low-pressure area and other weather systems. According to the latest readings, the water level climbed to 154.33 meters.

This increase was a result of 3.48 meters of water added to the dam on Thursday alone. Notably, the water level remains below the critical operating level of 160 meters.

Despite the current level, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has warned that continued rainfall over the watershed could further raise the reservoir's level. This development may have implications for water management and supply in the region.

As the situation continues to unfold, residents and authorities will closely monitor the water level to ensure the dam's stability and the safety of those nearby.
