M5 MacBook Pro Priced $290 Below Standard Retail

Apple’s recent price increase for its MacBook lineup has prompted retailers to seek ways to match earlier pricing levels. Observers note that the adjustments, announced last month, raised the cost of several models by up to several hundred dollars.

B&H Photo announced a 14‑inch M5 MacBook Pro priced at $1,729, representing a $290 discount compared with Apple’s current retail price. The offer sits just $10 above the model’s price before the recent hike, effectively restoring the pre‑increase cost for consumers.

The configuration is the base model, equipped with Apple’s M5 processor and a 1 TB solid‑state drive. It includes a 96‑watt power adapter capable of charging the battery to roughly 50 percent within 30 minutes.

Key features include a Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion technology, Thunderbolt 5 ports, an HDMI output, an SDXC card slot, and Wi‑Fi 6E connectivity. The laptop retains Apple’s signature aluminum chassis, available in silver or space‑black finishes.

Analysts suggest that such pricing adjustments may help maintain demand among buyers who were deterred by the recent price hikes, offering a competitive alternative that aligns with earlier market expectations.
