A heavy‑metal concert in Dunedin was abruptly halted when a fan left a large amount of feces on the mosh pit floor.
The incident occurred during a performance by the local band Devilskin, a few songs into the set. When the excrement was discovered, the lead singer stopped the show, and several attendees began to vomit as the foul smell spread across the floor.
Witnesses reported that the defecation was not contained; dancing fans stepped into the mess, and the material spread onto the stage and onto people’s legs, causing a wave of nausea and visible distress among the audience.

Security staff intervened and escorted the individual responsible from the venue. The remaining concertgoers were moved to the foyer, where many displayed signs of shock and anxiety while cleanup crews addressed the situation.
The venue’s managing body described the event as an “unfortunate medical incident” and emphasized that the individual involved remained clothed throughout. No arrests were made following police review.
