Man Shot with Arrow by Spouse in Fatal Domestic Incident

Man Shot with Arrow by Spouse in Fatal Domestic Incident

A 42‑year‑old circus performer accidentally struck her 38‑year‑old husband with a crossbow arrow during a live act at a county fair in New York.

The arrow pierced the man's neck while he was holding a foam target. He was immediately airlifted to Westchester Medical Center, where surgeons removed the arrow and closed the wound with stitches.

After the incident, the circus cancelled the remainder of the night's performances. It reopened the next evening without the crossbow act.

Investigators found the injury occurred in a soft‑tissue area of the neck, with no major blood vessels damaged. The husband was reported to be in stable condition and able to walk and speak after the operation.

He was released from the hospital the following day. While he is recovering, he will need time before returning to the circus.

Authorities responded to a report of the injury and are conducting a preliminary investigation. The case remains under review.
