MANHUNT INTENSIFIES: Georgetown Shooter's ACCOMPLICE UNMASKED!

A quiet Georgetown neighborhood was shattered earlier this month when a woman was seriously injured in a shooting. The incident unfolded on January 8th, around 3:45 p.m., near the intersection of John and Victoria Streets, prompting an immediate police response.

Initial reports indicated the victim was rushed to a local hospital, thankfully listed in stable condition despite the severity of her injury. Investigators quickly determined this wasn’t a random act of violence, but a targeted attack against someone known to her assailant.

Within 24 hours, nineteen-year-old Emma MacLean, a Georgetown resident, was arrested and faces serious charges including unauthorized firearm possession, intentional discharge of a firearm, and assault with a weapon. She also faces charges related to a probation order violation.

James Chadrey (Chad) Hume, 41, is wanted by Halton Regional Police following a shooting in Georgetown on Jan. 8, 2026.

The investigation didn’t stop there. Detectives continued to meticulously piece together the events leading up to the shooting, uncovering evidence that pointed to a second individual involved in the crime.

Now, police are actively searching for forty-one-year-old James Chadrey Hume, also known as Chad. He is wanted on identical charges to MacLean – unlawful firearm possession, intentional discharge, assault with a weapon, and a probation violation.

Authorities have issued a stark warning: Hume is considered armed and dangerous. He is known to frequent the Halton Hills area, with a strong possibility he remains within Georgetown. A recent photograph of Hume has been released to aid in his identification.

The public is strongly advised not to approach Hume if spotted. Anyone with information, no matter how small, is urged to contact the Halton Regional Police Major Crime Bureau tip line at 905-825-4776, extension 4776. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The search continues as investigators work to bring both suspects to justice and ensure the safety of the community.
