Earlier statements from Trump were even more pointed, employing harsh language to condemn Smith and what he characterized as the weaponization of the justice system against political opponents. These accusations center on a perceived bias within the Biden administration and its prosecutors.
Recent scrutiny of Smith’s actions has focused on allegations of improper targeting, including investigations into individuals connected to the January 6th events. Reports suggest Smith’s team scrutinized communications of Republican Senators and House Representatives during a probe known as ‘Arctic Frost.’
